THE INSPIRATION FOR BREAKTHROUGH! IS DEEPLY PERSONAL; HEATHER HAS LOST ALMOST HER ENTIRE FAMILY TO COMPLICATIONS OF OBESITY, DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE. HER MISSION IS TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON OVERCOMING IDENTITY, DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY DISORDERS FOR ADULTS AND TEENS.

Background

Heather is a former airline pilot and director of airline training, fleet acquisition, and safety programs. She is passionate about research and developing practical approaches to challenging problems.¬† She graduated Flint School aboard the tall ship Te Vega at 15 and spent 5 years running fishing boats in Alaska before going to college to become an airline pilot. Her Bachelor’s degree is in Aeronautical Science and she holds 2 Masters of Science degrees in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling¬† as well as a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Away from work, Heather shares that her Inner Child (who seems oddly fond of magenta) happily manages (or hijacks) her life. Almost year-round she can be found sailing, crabbing, and beach-combing with her family and dogs in the San Juan Islands and beyond.
